Low voltage accent lights placed within the garden pond rocks will
enhance their beauty and provide entertainment for you and the fish
well into the night.
Above-water lights become waterfall lights when directed into
the falling stream of water.
A submersible pond light can be hidden
in the rocks or placed on the bottom for additional visual impact.
Tip: Before adding pond lights to your water feature,
experiment during darkness with a flashlight. On paper, draw out a plan
of the intended effect when lighting your water garden. The finished
project may turn out to be a little different but a plan will give you
an idea where to place the lights.
With this plan, it is
then possible to calculate the number of garden underwater pond lights needed,
wattage load, the size of the transformer necessary and the length of
cable required.
Don’t forget to add a
waterfall light and some low wattage path lights into your
calculations. Careful planning may allow all lighting to be powered by
a single transformer.
